Sea turtles nest on sandy beaches. The temales crawl ashore (usually at night)to dig a body pit followed by a deeper egg chamber using their flippers.
Each turtle will lay between 50 – 200 soft-shelled eggs.
They then cover them in sand to disguise the nest site before they return to the sea. After 60 days the hatchlings emerge and instinctively race to enter the water
