The fish species Cobia are just appearing on fishmonger’s slabs in Europe. They are a white fish with a full flavour. Other common names for Cobia are Black Kingfish, Black Salmon and Lemon Fish. They can grow to 2 meters in length and weigh up to 78Kg. First discovered in the Mediterranean in 1978 they are now being bred on fish farms.

Cobia are often called black salmon and have become a very popular eating fish.
