The Andean condor is one of the largest flying birds in the world. They inhabit the coastal region of the Andes mountains that run from Columbia in the north down to Argentina. They have a wingspan of 2.5 meters and are capable of soaring effortlessly in the air currents above the mountains. They are vultures that feed on carrion, able to spot a carcass from their lofty height.
