90cm x 53cm
Oil on textured board.

Elephants live in a matriarch society led by an old and experienced female. When bull elephants reach sexual maturity they are ejected from the herd and live a solitary existence, either alone or in a small group. Bulls go through a cycle of sexual activity and at its height they exude a secretion behind the ears. This state is known as the “must”.
When testosterone levels reach their height the bull elephant becomes very aggressive and unpredictable.
