A giant moray eel is caught in sun rays shining through the branches of an elk horn coral.. These eels are ambush predators and shelter in crevices and small cave on the slopes of the outer coral reef. They grow to 3 meters in length and weigh up to 30 kg. They feed mainly on fish and hunt by smell rather than sight.
They have been known to attack divers.
