Spotted Hyenas
87cm x 61cm
Cobra water mixable oils on textured board.
Although the spotted hyena has a reputation as a scavenger, feeding on the leftovers of other predators, they are in fact skilled hunters, capable of bringing down a Wildebeest or antelope.
They live in a matriarch society. The dominant female will be supported by her sisters and daughters and the males are relegated to the lowest orders.
Their jaws are so powerful that they have the strongest bite of any mammal. They are capable of crushing bone and nothing will be left at the kill site.
