Bull Elephants in Namibia

80cm x 53cm
Cobra water mixable oil colours on textured board

During a visit to Namibia in 2019 I saw a number of individual bull elephants wandering through the scrub, sometimes in small groups of 2 or 3. When a bull elephant reaches maturity it is ejected from the herd and subjected to a solitary life. The herd is led by an old female matriarch who takes care of the welfare of the herd.
