Scalloped hammerhead sharks

109cm x 61cm
acrylics on textured board.

My first experience of diving with hammerhead sharks, was in the waters surrounding Darwin Arch and Wolf Rock at the northern extremity of the Galapagos Archipelago. Another memorable single encounter was off of the Brother Islands in the Red Sea. Cocos Island off of the coast of Puerto Rico is washed by the nutrient rich waters of the Humboldt current which attracts large congregations of these sharks..
