When diving you always feel an affinity towards sea mammals such as dolphins, sea lions and seals.They are inquisitive, intelligent, playful and endearing. Fishes can be exquisite in colour, shape and pattern but there is no interaction, unless they are serious predators when their attentions will not be welcome.
This painting is of a sea lion. They differ from seals in that their fore flippers are jointed enabling them to walk on land, whereas seals slide along on their bellies.
